Founding Partners & Co-Owners
Frank is Co-Managing Partner, Head of Investor Relations and a Member of DFI’s Investment Committee. Prior to co-founding DFI in 2016, he spent seven years as Co-Founding and Senior Managing Partner of BLG Capital, Turkey’s largest private equity real estate investment and development firm. He was previously Partner of Access Turkey Capital Group, a Turkish middle market corporate private equity platform for two years. Prior to that he worked for eight years in New York City for a family office and a middle market private equity firm Newtek Business Services, focusing on investments in business and financial services companies. Frank holds a Master of Public Health from Columbia University and Bachelor of Arts from George Washington University.
Gavin is a Co-Managing Partner, Head of Investments and Member of the Investment Committee of Deutsche Finance International or DFI. He has over 18 years’ of industry experience, with extensive cross-border expertise, and has been involved in more than €4 billion of transactions. Prior to co-founding DFI in 2016, he served as Managing Director responsible for real estate at the largest growth market focused private equity firm, was part of the principal real estate finance team at The Royal Bank of Scotland and practised as a lawyer at Allen & Overy. Gavin holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University College London, a postgraduate diploma from Nottingham Law School and a Masters of Business Administration from INSEAD.
Investments & Asset Management
Paul is a Director at DFI. Prior to joining the firm, he was an Associate in the investment team at Patron Capital, focusing on the origination, execution and asset management of opportunistic/value-add asset-backed investments across Europe. He began his career as an Analyst at Goldman Sachs in London. Paul holds a first-class Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Nottingham and achieved a distinction in his Postgraduate degree in Real Estate Economics and Finance from the London School of Economics.
Juan is a Director at DFI. He has over 15 years’ of real estate debt, equity investment and asset management experience. Prior to joining DFI, he was a Chief Capital Markets Officer at Neinor Homes where he was responsible for the execution of its €1.3 billion IPO. He was previously a Director at Lone Star Spain, where he oversaw the sourcing and execution of c.€1.5 billion investment opportunity in Iberia, and a Chief Executive of Vilamoura World, a Portuguese master developer wholly owned by Lone Star funds. Juan holds a BS in Economics, an MS in Finance, an MBA from Columbia Business School and is a CFA Charterholder.
Daniel is a Senior Associate at DFI. Prior to joining the firm, he was an Investment Manager at Allianz Real Estate where he focused on indirect investment. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Associate for Allianz Real Estate of America where he focused on large transactions in the United States. Daniel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the WU Vienna University of Economics and Business.
Francesco is an Associate at DFI. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Senior Associate at London & Regional Properties (L&R), where he was responsible for the acquisition of real estate, lodging, and leisure assets throughout Europe. Before L&R, Francesco spent two years as an acquisitions professional within the Europe Value Partners fund series team at CBRE GI, focusing on opportunistic and value-add office, retail, and logistics investments across Western Europe. He has also worked within Deutsche Bank RREEF and EY as a management consultant. Francesco is a graduate of the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University and has an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Alex is an Associate at DFI. Prior to joining the firm, she was an Analyst at Meyer Bergman (MB) where she focused on Acquisitions and Asset Management across a range of asset classes (retail, offices, logistics, residential, mixed-use) throughout Europe. Prior to that, she worked as an Analyst at MB’s residential development platform – Meyer Homes – which was established to deliver over 3,000 homes across London and the South East. Alex began her career in 2014 at Grainger plc and is an MRICS-qualified Chartered Surveyor. She holds a First Class Bachelor of Arts degree in Land Economy from the University of Cambridge.
Jonni is an Associate at DFI. Prior to joining the firm, he was an Analyst at InfraRed Capital where he focused on UK value-add investment across multiple asset classes, in particular multi-let industrial. Prior to that, he worked at Citi in the South African Investment Banking team, where he worked on M&A and equity capital markets transactions across sectors. Jonni has a Master’s degree from London Business School and an undergraduate in Finance from the University of Cape Town.
Dominik is an Analyst at DFI. Prior to joining the firm, he was an Investment Banking Analyst in the German Coverage team at Citi in Frankfurt, where he was involved in several M&A transactions in the business services, consumer and retail as well as real estate sector. Dominik holds a Bachelor’s degree in General Management from the EBS University in Oestrich-Winkel, Germany.
Mattias is an Analyst at DFI and has two years of experience in the finance industry.
He began his career at Sparebanken Vest where he worked in the Investment Advisory Division.
Mattias graduated with an MSc in Finance and Accounting from Imperial College Business School.
Finance & Tax
Ben McComb is Chief Financial Officer of DFI and has over 22 years of experience. He joined DFI from Henderson Park where he was Finance Director. Prior roles include five years as CFO of Brockton Capital and seven years as Head of Fund Reporting at Doughty Hanson. He began his career with roles at Mace Group, AXA Investment Managers and UBS Private Equity. Ben holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Australian National University and is a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA).
Xin is Financial Controller of DFI. She previously oversaw the financial reporting process at Student Roost, a £1.5 billion student housing investment by Brookfield. Prior to that, she worked on audits of real estate clients and advised on capital market transactions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, in both the UK and Australia. Xin holds an Honours degree in Accounting and a Bachelors degree in Biotechnology from the University of New South Wales. She is a Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand.
Claire is a Fund Controller at DFI. Prior to joining DFI, Claire was a Fund Controller at Round Hill Capital, where she was responsible for funds investing in c.€2bn of residential and light logistics assets across Central and Northern Europe. Prior to that, she worked as an Audit Manager at EY in London, primarily focused on real estate funds. Claire holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours degree in Physics from the University of St Andrews. She is a Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Tom is the finance analyst at DFI. He previously manged the investment accounting process at Pool Reinsurance Company Limited, which alongside its insurance operations, oversees an investment portfolio of £6.5bn. Prior to that, he worked in audit, accounts and advisory. Tom holds a Master’s degree in International Accounting & Financial Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Politics & International Relations from the University of East Anglia. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant, being a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, an Investment Management Certificate holder and a certified PRINCE2 Agile project manager.
Legal and Operations
Keith is the General Counsel at DFI. Prior to joining the firm, he spent over 12 years at Norton Rose Fulbright as a corporate M&A lawyer with a particular focus on the real estate, infrastructure and energy sectors. Keith holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Bristol and a postgraduate diploma from BPP Law School. He is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales.
Dannielle is the Operations and Marketing Manager at DFI. Prior to joining DFI, she has served in management and administration roles at Green Street Advisors and a global recruitment firm in Hong Kong. Dannielle graduated from Middlesex University with a degree in Fashion and Design.
Francesca is Team Secretary at DFI. She has previously specialised in events and marketing at the cricket charity Lord’s Taverners as well as freelancing to businesses across the UK over the last few years. She has a Business and Retail Management degree from the University of Surrey.
Oliver is the Development Director at DFI and has over 18 years development experience in commercial and mixed use schemes. He joined DFI from Mace Developments where he was leading the Westferry Printworks project, a planned 1,500-unit residential development on the Isle of Dogs in East London. He was also responsible for the delivery of large purpose-built student accommodation projects in Cardiff, Exeter and Sheffield.
Prior to Mace, Oliver spent 14 years at Land Securities, including two years as Head of Development for its London Portfolio, where he was significantly involved in the regeneration of Victoria and the delivery of over 3 million sq ft of mixed use developments across London. Oliver is a FRICS qualified Chartered Surveyor and holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Urban Land Economics from Sheffield Hallam University.
Magdalena is a Director at DFI. Prior to joining, she was a Director at Greystar where she was responsible for servicing capital partners in Greystar-managed join venture vehicles. Prior to that, Magdalena was a Director on Tristan Capital’s investment team where she spent six years focussed on deal execution across opportunistic, value-add and core-plus strategies across Europe. She has also worked within investments and asset management at Mountgrange/ Clearbell Capital having started her career in the international valuations business of CBRE.
