Strategic tri-partite JV to deliver residential-led mixed-use schemes across The Randstad, Netherlands.

DFI have partnered with Waterland Real Estate (local development manager) and Van Wijnen (one of Netherland’s largest housebuilders) to form a joint venture to deliver residential-led mixed-use projects in The Randstad. The acquisition of the seed asset completed in February 2020.

Formerly the Meneba flour mill factory, the 4.6 hectare (11.4 acre) 100-year-old industrial site in the Wormerveer area of Zaanstad was purchased for the development of 600+ residential units, including Build to Rent and for sale homes, as well as a hotel and ancillary commercial uses.

This project is a significant opportunity to develop a new, mixed-use urban quarter for Wormerveer and the Zaanstad region, which will include sustainable and affordable rental and owner-occupied homes that help address the large shortage of residential properties in the area.
